Cameron Highlands is a great hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. First developed by the British in the early 1920s, it is home to the famous 'BOH' tea plantation; Cameron Highlands is situated at the northwest of Pahang.

How to go: Various coach companies offer services to Cameron highlands from Golden Mile Complex. One of them is Konsortium. Tickets can be booked easily online and cost S$60-70 one way. Alternatively, Five star tours offer return coach tickets that cost S$80-110 depending on your period of travel.
Within Cameron highlands, the only way to get around is via hailing a cab or self-drive.

Kukup is a quaint little fishing village located just two hours from Singapore, making it a perfect place for a short spring getaway.


How to go: Located southwest of Johor Bahru, in the district of Pontian, Johor, in Malaysia, Kukup just about two hours drive from Singapore, making it a convenient self-drive weekend getaway from singapore.

In June 2011, a couple of friends, whom I got to know out of a common love for analogue photography, and I went on a long weekend trip to Pulau Tioman.
