Call me a yuppie/hippie/whatever, but I’m a huge fan of indie music- the xx, the morning benders (now called POP ETC.) phoenix, humming urban stereo, Linus’ blanket etc. among my favourites.
For all indie music lovers out there in Singapore, the hit concert to be at in 2014 is definitely the Laneway Music festival.

Known simply as the Laneway, the St. Jerome's Laneway Festival was first conceived of in 2004, and took place at Caledonian Lane in Melbourne, Australia.
It is well-known for being a predominantly an indie music event, and has gained popularity in the recent years, making it’s debut in Singapore in 2011.

Laneway Festival Singapore 2014 is taking place at the Meadow, Gardens by the bay. It's a nice airy concert venue in a lovely natural environment. Artistes like Corinne May and Jason Mraz have previously held their concerts at the meadow, and this was also the venue where this year's Laneway festival was held at.

2014's lineup looks to be an interesting mishmash of bands/individuals, with the likes of:
(in alphabetical order):
CHVRCHES, Daughter, Frightened Rabbit, Haim, Jagwar Ma, James Blake, Jamie xx, The Jezabels, Kurt Vile, Mount Kimbie, Savages, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Vance Joy, XXYYXX, Youth Lagoon.

Tickets will go on sale from 1st October 2013. There are some early bird promotions, so be sure to visit eventCliQue.com, SISTIC as well as the official FB page for more information. Having missed the Laneway this year, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for this one!
